Every Workplace Deserves to Be Safe

Every employer has a responsibility to provide their people with a safe workplace. Regularly inspecting and testing electrical equipment is one of the clearest ways to meet it — and it is what we do.

Elite Test and Tag specialises in this work and uses the latest testing and recording equipment, so you get a result you can rely on and a record you can produce when it is asked for.

Coming from the trades

We come from a trade background, so we understand what a working day actually looks like. We schedule around you rather than the other way round, and we are used to working on live sites without becoming another thing to manage.

How often does equipment need testing?

It depends on the workplace and the environment within it — anywhere from every 3 months to every 5 years. Construction sites are classified as hostile environments and need testing every 3 months. See our testing intervals page for the detail.

What needs to be tested

  • Portable, hand-held and stationary electrical equipment connected by a supply cord
  • Cord sets (IEC leads), extension leads and outlet devices (power boards)
  • Flexible cords connected to fixed equipment in hostile environments
  • Portable power supplies
  • Battery chargers, and similar equipment

On a worksite

Drills, power saws, grinders, compressors, routers, extension leads, power boards and RCDs.

In an office

Computers, monitors, printers, photocopiers, IEC leads, power boards, extension leads, vacuum cleaners, battery chargers, lamps, radios and televisions.

In a kitchen or staff room

Kettles, toasters, sandwich makers, coffee machines, microwave ovens and small refrigerators.

Elite Test and Tag is fully qualified, insured and licensed (licence number 67096), and tests to Australian Standard AS/NZS 3760.
