RCD Testing

Regular testing of portable and fixed residual current devices is a vital part of keeping a workplace compliant and safe. A push-button test tells you the device responds; it does not tell you whether it responds fast enough.

What we measure

We test with a dedicated RCD tester: trip time first, then trip current, both measured and recorded. That is what demonstrates the device will actually protect somebody, and it is what an auditor will ask for.

How often

Intervals vary by work environment. On construction work, the user must carry out a push-button test daily or before every use, and trip time and trip current must be tested by a licensed electrical contractor every 3 months.

Portable and fixed

We test both — portable RCD power boards on site, and fixed RCDs in the switchboard.

All suburbs of Brisbane, plus Logan City, Ipswich, Redland City and the northern Gold Coast.

Simple, flat-rate pricing

No hidden costs and no call-out surprises. We charge a flat $120 + GST for the first 10 items tested. Additional items are $5–$8 each + GST, depending on how many there are and the type of work environment.

You get a straightforward quote before any work starts.

Elite Test and Tag is fully qualified, insured and licensed (licence number 67096), and tests to Australian Standard AS/NZS 3760.
