What service do you offer?
We offer onsite test and tag services using state-of-the-art testing equipment, servicing all suburbs of Brisbane. Our team is highly qualified, insured and fully licensed — licence number 67096.
Electrical appliances are more common than ever in the workplace. They make our working lives easier, but we rarely stop to think about what might happen if a piece of equipment is damaged, or whether it is still safe for people to use. Often the importance of safety is not considered until it is too late. Checking your appliances properly is not straightforward without the right tools — which is where we come in.
What are the benefits?
Our service is effective and simple. It has two parts: first we visually inspect your appliances for signs of damage, then we conduct electrical tests with a portable appliance tester. It is quick, affordable and fully compliant with AS/NZS 3760 — a small investment in making sure your portable appliances are safe.
How much will it cost?
We use a simple pricing structure with no hidden costs or charges. A flat $120 + GST for the first ten items tested, then $5–$8 each + GST for additional appliances depending on the number of items and the work environment. We are transparent with our pricing and will provide a straightforward quote before any work commences.
Do you offer a drop-in service?
Yes. If you are working to a tight deadline you can bring your appliances to us for testing and tagging, which can save you valuable time. Please call first to make an appointment.
How often does equipment need to be tested?
It varies according to the type of workplace and the environment within it — anywhere between 3 months and 5 years. See testing intervals for the detail.
What needs to be tested?
Office areas: computers, monitors, printers, photocopiers, IEC leads, power boards, extension leads, vacuum cleaners, battery chargers, lamps, radios and televisions.
Kitchen areas: kettles, toasters, sandwich makers, coffee machines, microwave ovens and small refrigerators.
Workshops and sites: drills, power saws, grinders, compressors, routers, extension leads, power boards and RCDs.
More broadly, that means portable, hand-held and stationary equipment connected by a supply cord; cord sets and extension leads; outlet devices such as power boards; flexible cords connected to fixed equipment in hostile environments; portable power supplies; and battery chargers.
