Our Procedure
Every job follows the same four steps, so you know exactly what was checked and can prove it afterwards.
1. Visual and physical inspection
We first carry out a thorough visual and physical inspection of each appliance, paying particular attention to noticeable damage, defects or modifications in the equipment and its accessories. All cords, plugs and sockets are inspected to make sure the inner cores are not exposed or twisted, and the external sheaths are not cut, abraded, twisted or damaged.
2. Electrical testing
Testing is then carried out using the Seaward SuperNova tester. Depending on the type of appliance, the SuperNova runs a series of tests to determine the electrical integrity and safety of the item. These include earth continuity, insulation resistance, current leakage and polarity.
3. Acting on the result
Non-compliant or failed equipment is labelled with a tag indicating that the item requires remedial action and warning against further use. Equipment that fails is withdrawn from service immediately.
A durable, non-reusable tag is applied to equipment that passes, carrying the name of the tester, the inspection date, the retest date and the reference to AS/NZS 3760.
4. Documentation
We record the result for every appliance and, on completion of the job, give you a printout or PDF to keep for your records.
Simple, flat-rate pricing
No hidden costs and no call-out surprises. We charge a flat $120 + GST for the first 10 items tested. Additional items are $5–$8 each + GST, depending on how many there are and the type of work environment.
You get a straightforward quote before any work starts.
