Test and Tag
We test and tag portable electrical equipment onsite, to Australian Standard AS/NZS 3760, using state-of-the-art testing equipment. You get a compliant workplace and a written record of every item.
What the service covers
Anything portable and plugged in: power tools, extension leads, IEC leads, power boards, computers and monitors, printers and photocopiers, kettles and microwaves, vacuum cleaners, battery chargers and portable power supplies.
How we test
A thorough visual and physical inspection first — we check every appliance for damage, defects or modification, and inspect cords, plugs and sockets to make sure inner cores are not exposed or twisted and outer sheaths are not cut, abraded or damaged.
Then the electrical tests: earth continuity, insulation resistance, current leakage and polarity, run on a Seaward SuperNova tester. Which tests apply depends on the type of appliance.
What you get
Every compliant item receives a durable, non-reusable tag showing the tester's name, the inspection date, the retest date and the standard. Failed equipment is tagged to warn against further use and withdrawn from service immediately. On completion you receive a printout or PDF of every result for your records.
How often
Between 3 months and 5 years depending on your workplace — see testing intervals. Construction sites are quarterly; see construction sites.
Simple, flat-rate pricing
No hidden costs and no call-out surprises. We charge a flat $120 + GST for the first 10 items tested. Additional items are $5–$8 each + GST, depending on how many there are and the type of work environment.
You get a straightforward quote before any work starts.
